In 1929, Nagaru Fujisawa established “Ocho Confectionery” in Higashinari-Ku, Osaka. The first sweets were produced under the trademark “Star Unicorn,” and the head office was later moved to Ikuno-Ku, Osaka. In 1949, when Hideki Yukawa was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics, the brand name NOBEL was established. In 1952, Nobel Juice Candy and Nobel Prize Candy were launched, and the company changed its name to Nobel Fruit in 1959.
